Soul and Structure of Governance in India

Soul and Structure of Governance in India, the latest work by eminent administrator and former Union Minister of Tourism, Shri Jagmohan, was released at a well-attended function, by the Hon'ble Vice-President of India, Shri Bhairon Singh Shekhawat on 17 June 2005.


Shri L.K. Advani presided over the function.


At the outset, the author presented a detailed analysis of the issues that he discussed in the book, to expand on his thesis that a case for an ethical state and ethical governance rest upon the foundational planks of a rekindled mind, a re-awakened soul and a set of redesigned and revitalized institutions.


Shri L.K. Advani commended the author on his eminently readable book and expressed the hope that it would be read by all those connected with governance and administration in the country.


The Hon'ble Vice President, in his speech, referred to Jagmohan's latest book as one written on a subject very close to his heart. Describing Jagmohan as a versatile and many splendoured personality, he commented: "Shri Jagmohan's treatise is not just theory, it is based on his rich and varied practical experience full of wisdom; his prescription are based on the strength of his experiments which have became well known success stories. His suggestions for reforms are, therefore, practical and real".
